Congratulations to all those taking part and coaches and supporters on an excellent start to our promotion campaign for 2010, with a good turn out of athletes and some excellent personal bests already. Full results will be posted on the notice board in the club house and can also be seen on the Northern Athletics web site.
The next match is on 5th June also at Derby(Moorways) hosted by Chesterfield AC. Note also that Match 3 will be at Quibbell Park, Scunthorpe on 4th July not Cleethorpes
Thornbridge Hall Challenge

This June (5th June), the gates of Thornbridge Hall in Derbyshire swing open as small charities come together for the FSI Challenge, a day that mixes fundraising and family fun to benefit small charities that support communities right across the UK. Down’s Syndrome Derby are using this opportunity to ask supporters to enter to raise money for us.
The Challenge is a fun run/walk with 4 and 10 km courses that are suitable to all ages with a reasonable level of fitness. The route takes you through some of the most scenic parts of the Peak District, after which you can relax in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall.
With thanks to the FSI there is no registration fee so all funds you raise for us go straight to our Charity.

Alex Pilcher took the Derby 10k title for the 2nd time, finishing in 30:39, a course record and just 15 secs off his PB. Dave Westbury also made the podium with a 3rd placing, despite suffering with an anke niggle. Dave's 10k was a PB as he hasn't run one in recent years. Martin Booth achieved a great PB with 32:21 in 5th place.
